Anxiety therapy online – so anxiety stops running your life
The racing thoughts at 2 a.m. The tight chest before every meeting. The quiet habit of scanning each day for what could go wrong.
Anxiety is not a flaw in who you are. It's a signal – often a very loyal, very outdated one.
Anxiety has a way of taking up more and more space – until you're organising your life around it. In therapy, we listen to it together, so it can finally quiet down. I'm Laura, a psychologist and Gestalt therapist, and I work online, in English, with clients around the world – including many expats and internationals.
My approach: Gestalt therapy – not a protocol, a meeting
A lot of anxiety treatment follows a manual. My way of working is different. As a Gestalt therapist, I don't treat you as a diagnosis to be corrected – we work with what is actually here, now, in you:
Curiosity instead of combat. Fighting anxiety usually feeds it. Instead, we get to know it: What exactly is it guarding? When did it first learn that the world isn't safe? Anxiety often turns out to be an old protector that never got the memo that you've grown.
The body first. Anxiety is deeply physical – so we don't stay in your head. We notice where it lives in your body, give it room, let it move. The body only exists in the present moment, and the present moment is the one place anxiety's "what ifs" can't reach.
New experiences, at your pace. In the safety of the therapeutic relationship you get to try what avoidance never allowed: staying, feeling, speaking up – and discovering you survive it. That lived experience, not willpower, is what loosens anxiety's grip.
I won't promise you a life with zero anxiety – nobody honestly can. What my clients typically find is that anxiety gets quieter, more understandable, and stops making their decisions for them.
Social anxiety, constant worry and panic
Anxiety wears different faces. The constant worrier runs disaster rehearsals about health, work, money, the people you love – solving one worry just frees up space for the next. Social anxiety fears being seen and judged, so you avoid the dinner, the call, the opportunity – and the loneliness that follows feeds the anxiety further. And sometimes anxiety speaks through the body first: tense shoulders, restless sleep, stomach knots, a heart that races out of nowhere – sometimes escalating into panic attacks.
You don't need a diagnosis to deserve support. If anxiety is shrinking your life, that's reason enough.
Anxiety therapy for expats – wherever you live
Living abroad multiplies the triggers: a new language, paperwork, no safety net of family and old friends nearby. What used to be manageable at home suddenly isn't. If you're an international, you don't have to explain this to me – I live it too. More about my work with internationals: therapy for expats.
Sessions happen via secure video, in English – or German or Polish; we can even switch mid-session if a feeling finds its name in another language. Wherever you live, across time zones: no waiting lists, no commute, your own safe space.
Signs anxiety is taking too much space
- Daily worry loops – even without a concrete reason
- Avoiding situations, places or conversations “just in case”
- Tension, poor sleep or physical symptoms without medical findings
- Decisions feel dangerous – so they keep getting postponed
- People say “just relax” – and that's exactly what won't work
Therapy does not replace medical or psychiatric treatment. Persistent physical symptoms deserve a medical check-up. In an acute crisis, call your local emergency number (112 in the EU).
What a client shared
“I was looking for someone to guide me. Over the course of our sessions, I developed a deeper understanding of my emotions and a stronger connection with myself. She immediately created a safe and comfortable space where I felt heard and supported. Even through online therapy, her fine sense for the minor details in my words and gestures was gently guiding me along a rewarding path of self-discovery. Together, we uncovered insights that had been hidden in my subconscious. I came away with a much greater sense of self-awareness, a clearer understanding of both my healthy and unhelpful patterns, and a far stronger sense of inner security.”

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Does online therapy work for anxiety? +
Yes – research consistently shows online therapy for anxiety to be about as effective as in-person work. Many anxious clients actually start more easily online, from a space where they already feel safe.
What type of therapy is best for anxiety? +
The common thread of what works: no longer avoiding the anxiety, but meeting it in a safe setting. Gestalt therapy does this experientially – through awareness, the body and the here-and-now – rather than through worksheets alone.
Can you help with panic attacks? +
Yes. We work on two levels: practical tools for the acute wave (breathing out longer than you breathe in, grounding through the senses), and the deeper work of understanding what the panic is trying to say.
Do I need a diagnosis to start? +
No. You don't need a diagnosis, a referral or a “serious enough” problem. If anxiety is costing you living, that's enough.
Do you work with expats and internationals? +
Very much so – internationals are the heart of my practice. Therapy in your own language (English, German or Polish), with someone who knows the expat experience from the inside.
